Over the weekend I made some birthday cards from old paintings. I created a page of watercolor cakes last summer to make some patterns from and I never really did much with them. Since they have just been sitting around for almost a year, I scraped them and turned them into something with more of a purpose. Now I have about 15 cute homemade birthday cards for family and friends!
Last week I really struggled to make a painting a day. I did not make, nor was I inspired to make. I think that is the whole point of the 100 day project, to make one thing each day even when you don't feel like it. However my week was not a total failure, I managed to make a couple more paintings/drawings. I tried to make without thinking about good art and bad art. These were my four favorites (the two on the left to be more specific). Once I framed them I liked them a whole lot better and am now in the market for any cheap frames I can get my hands on! I want to fill my walls with some of these colorful cuties.
So far this week is going better than last, and I am making something (or a bunch of things) each day. I saw an instagram post from a painter who found a bunch of thrift frames all shapes, colors, and themes. I feel inspired to dig for some myself, and make things to go inside them. That will be my goal for this week, to find some unique frames and make something to go with their theme/mood!
