In the studio I have a number of projects going with no end in sight! I have a dress I am draping for an event in September, paintings started, jewelry being explored, and most recently I have started making work for a pattern and print company. This recent work has challenged me because it gives me set projects and assignments. I have been working with Young Chan on some tea cup patterns, as well as some graphics. It has been a lot of fun exploring these new themes because they are a breath of fresh air from my studio norms, and what I do at work!
After a couple hours of stalking letter and graphic designers websites, instagrams, and youtube channels, I finally got my brush to paper. I was shocked by how much I enjoyed the flow! It is difficult to begin, as I still have this fear of messing up, but once I got started, it was hard to stop. Not every letter is perfect, and I wouldn't even say I am good at it, but I plan on working at it more and more until it becomes comfortable.
Next I will make a couple Fathers Day cards and see how those turn out! Be on the look out dad!
