Exploring our new neighborhood, Deep Ellum Dallas!
No post for me last week.... Here is a list of what happened besides work and sleep, but instead of art making, blogging, and adventuring around.
1.) Cardiac Arrest (11 seconds without a beat)
2.) ICD (Implantable pacemaker/defibrillator) went off for the second time ever in 6 years
3.) Looked for new apartment closer to work
4.) Found new apartment closer to work
5.) Packed, cleaned, moved from old apartment to new one
6.) Got new car (old car was damaged from hail and deemed pretty much worthless)
7.) Parents are in town, siblings on their way tomorrow
Whoooohoooo its been one hell-ov-a week here for me, but quiet a learning experience none the less. With more to come!
With my unknown heart disorder, I have an extra beat that throws all of my other heart beats out of wack. Sometimes I feel the arrhythmia, sometimes It happens in my sleep. It is pretty much unpredictable and at this point untreatable besides the device in my chest (Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator (IDC)). It is pretty freaking cool and I feel like the bionic woman! Thursday at work my heart stopped for 11 seconds, my ICD went off, and my heart kicked back into rhythm. I passed out and didn't know what happened. This pacemaker thing is quiet the smarty because not only did it bring my heart back, but it also showed my doctor everything that happened and why I passed out! Medical Technology is AWESOME!
Stressed heart and everything Young Chan and I needed to make a move closer to work and began the apartment hunt. Dallas is a bit insane in that the prices go up by the day but never seem to go down. It is a bit ridiculous and quite scammy but we found a place in the charming Deep Ellum. Perfect for us since it is extremely artsy and young. Our place is indeed an upgrade with more space and a loft-like set up. It is perfect for us as artists and I have so much studio space to work with. Alas, we moved in immediately!
Did I forget to mention our view of Downtown Dallas?
I have been brainstorming décor and color for our new place and boy am I excited to finish unpacking so I can begin the process. I have so much college art and random work Young Chang and I have made, plus some work I collected from friends at school! We have a long hallway that I want to turn into a gallery filled top to bottom with art and two walls in desperate need of new paint from brown (icky who made that color choice) to hopefully lemon lime citron and peach coral!
Young Chan and my mom like the blues, but I don't feel very creative in a room color so common. I'm going for bright and artistic, my home is not a showroom. My home is a creative space, so why not be creative? Why not get funky and fun. I am at a time in my life to play and experiment, so bring on Citron!
