If you follow my instagram, you know my color pallet is bright colors everywhere, all the time, and on everything. I also dig a good pattern on top of a pattern. While that is, and has been the focus of my work, I have been inspired for a some time now by tonal art that breaks down texture and shadow. Recently I have decided to start a new series that gears towards the direction of solid white paintings and black and white studies. Above are some images I have collected for inspiration in my screen shots on my cell phone, as well as my pintrest board. I think its finally time to get to it with this project.
Here is a quick sketchbook painting I worked on to start this project off while I collect more inspiration and books to read. I have an idea of the direction I want to take this work, but I am hoping the work will tell me the direction it needs to take. For now, I think I will stick to the sketchbooks and reading material! Happy Humpday!
