Oh the Places You Could Have Gone

Oh the Places You Could Have Gone is a direct response to the perception of excess. Through this rainbow immersion of mixed textures, childlike color, and play, optical illusory takes you into a false sense of reality. Intended to evoke an experience of both a calming sense of order yet extreme maximalism. The very colors, lights, and textures that invited you in are now doing the most. This overindulgence seeks to question if we are enjoying the experience or overwhelmed by its consumption. Its a push and pull duality of the real and illusory, tactile and intangible, childhood freedom and adult restriction. The perception of space is manipulated by different translucencies, sproftacchel shapes, familiar childhood textures and lights. This immersive installation illustrates Oh the Places you Could have Gone (if you were not restricted by self made boundaries).
